WebEvents Global continues to deliver innovative and exciting registration solutions at the second annual Google IO Developer Conference in San Francisco, May 27 – May 28th.   What was known as a program with long check in lines and many manual onsite adjustments, took a complete 180 degree turn this year receiving comments such as:
  • Looks like a lot more people at io2009 then last year. Registration was fast. Can we say that Google IO is finally out of BETA ? :)
  • Awesome registration speed, better than last year!
  • No line, no waiting. Self check-in stations via barcode registration emails. They really got their stuff together from last year! io2009

  • 7:45 and no line yet for registration. I'll be looking over the schedule now
  • The automated registration at io2009 can read our RFID implants! Cool!
  • I have never seen such a fast and easy registration process
What contributed to this great registration success?  The continued use of WebEvents Global automated and integrated registration database, self check in kiosks, mobile PDA barcode check in, and the use of WebEvents Global print on demand badge module.  Continuing in the innovative approach to registration, WebEvents Global launched its mobile registration check in reporting which the entire planning team to have check in reports at their fingertips, 24 hours a day!  Outside of conference check in, WebEvents Global offered a solution which allowed each attendee to collect contact information (available to those who opted in) from each person’s 2D barcode that was printed on each person’s badge.

Innovation continued with WebEvents Global successful integration with Google Checkout as a conference payment option.  Google Checkout was not only a successful payment option but it also proved to be popular, pulling in almost 25% of our conference registration fees!

While many other companies are facing a decrease in conference registration due to the current economic challenges, WebEvents Global is excited to say that this conference was an exception to that trend.  Due to the popular demand we sold out of registration spaces, exceeded our registration expectations by 15%, and increased from last year’s attendance!
